I loved the atmosphere and the Moroccan decor at "Rick's Bar". Though a bit above my usual price range, I found the hotel to be welcoming, the decor fun, the room (single) good (not as highly decorated as larger rooms), the bathroom excellent and enough room to move around in and open my suitcase, something that single rooms do not always provide. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The "continental breakfast" was varied and beyond what many hotels provide as a "continental breakfast". Having Rick's Bar open at all hours with snacks offered a delightful place to relax. Well John and his team delivered a memorable experience including cheese and wine every evening, dinner on New Year’s Eve at Tony’s next door with a complimentary bar.
Followed by dancing and drinks before heading to the roof to countdown to New Year and watch the ball drop.
The following morning a late breakfast next door was much welcomed. Add this to the usual great service,
We will definitely do New Year again in the future at the Casablanca and head back every year for our annual

The staff, from all the guys at the front desk (especially Johan and BIG Ben) to Martin in housekeeping and Maria in Rick’s Café. It was brilliant throughout the week. A little disappointed that there is no Gym access anymore and that the cheese and wine in the early evening has gone (it was a good time to chat with other guests.) It seems covid ended all that. I wish I remembered the name of the front desk/concierge that day (7/22/26 at check-in), but he very professional and thoughtful. I informed him I was in town for my birthday and he had a bottle of wine sent to my room with the attached birthday card. And while I was waiting for my room to be ready, he directed me to the upstairs lounge area where I had tea and snacks. Once my room was ready, he brought my bags to me with the key. AJ is another gracious staff member among others who are absolutely on-point. Diana, a housekeeper, deserves special acknowledgment. The property is unique and comfortable. The location may not be for everyone with its close proximity (a few yards) to the lights and crowds of Times Square. For others, it is a draw. The hotel has such a warm, charming boutique atmosphere, and its location simply can't be beat. We were able to walk to so many of New York City's iconic attractions while still enjoying a peaceful place to return to each evening.
What truly made our stay memorable was the incredible staff. Brian, Luis, Johan, and Matthew each went above and beyond to make us feel like valued guests rather than just another room number. Their kindness, professionalism, and genuine conversations added a personal touch that made our trip even more special.
The complimentary breakfast each morning was a wonderful way to start our busy sightseeing days, and the evening snacks and refreshments were an unexpected bonus that we looked forward to after miles of exploring the city.
The hotel was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. After walking nearly 50 miles during our New York adventure, coming back to the Casablanca each evening felt like coming home.
If you're looking for a hotel that combines an unbeatable Midtown location with outstanding service and true hospitality, look no further. We made incredible memories in New York City, and the Casablanca Hotel was a big part of what made this trip so unforgettable.

10 | 1068359755 | Our Oasis | What a joyful surprise to find this little oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of Times Square! Once my daughter and I stepped into the lobby, doorman at the wait, we felt comfort and quiet. Each time we returned to our hotel, we took a sigh of relief from the heat wave and the tsunami of tourists. Our room was perfect as our home away from home.
The continental breakfast was delicious with many options including cereals, bagels, fruit, yogurts, hard boiled eggs, and assorted small baked goods so you could feel fine about trying a couple different kinds. This generous take on a continental breakfast was served buffet style in Rick’s Cafe where we could choose cushy furniture or tables with chairs. The atmosphere was comfortable and homelike.
Casablanca is my favorite hotel of any I have stayed at in NYC. When I’m ready to return for more theater and good food, I’ll stay here where both are just a short, convenient walk away.
