The Role</b></p><p>
As a Principal Front End/Full Stack Developer in a Quantitative Development team, you will play a key role as a technical leader responsible for designing, implementing and deploying complex end-to-end web applications used by investment professionals and senior management executives. You will work closely with quantitative analysts as well as peer technology teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to architect robust technology solutions in areas such as portfolio construction, risk management, and alpha research.</p><p><b>

Lead the design, development and deployment of complex full-stack applications through the entire software development lifecycle</p></li><li><p>
Define and own the technical architecture for new and existing web applications, ensuring they are scalable, reliable and maintainable</p></li><li><p>
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and senior teammates, establishing and enforcing coding standards through code reviews</p></li><li><p>

The Expertise and Skills You Bring</b></p><ul><li><p>
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or a related field.</p></li><li><p>
8+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing and deploying complex, scalable, end-to-end web applications</p></li><li><p>
A proven track record of leading complex projects through the full software development lifecycle(SDLC) from requirements gathering and system design to production deployment and post-launch maintenance</p></li><li><p>
Expertise in modern front-end development, particularly with Angular and its ecosystem. Experience with other UI frameworks (like React, Vue.js) is a plus</p></li><li><p>
Strong Proficiency in back-end development with a main focus on Python and its web frameworks (eg Django, Flask).</p></li><li><p>
Extensive experience designing, implementing and optimizing relational databases(e.g. Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server). Strong SQL skills are a must</p></li><li><p>
Experience with object-oriented design and development, and standard software design patterns.</p></li><li><p>
Demonstrable ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with multiple collaborators, including product managers, UX/UI designers and other technology partners</p></li><li><p>
Experience with data visualization libraries and UI component libraries</p></li><li><p>
Solid background in financial services with an understanding of investment risk. Progress towards FRM or CFA Charter would be a strong plus</p></li></ul><p><b>
The Team</b></p><p>
The Asset Management Embedded Quantitative Development team is part of Asset Management’s Quantitative Research & Investment Technology group that partners with the investment teams in Fidelity Asset Management Solutions on various projects including portfolio construction, risk management, and alpha research. We create high quality, robust, and efficient high-responsive solutions that are used to enhance Fidelity productivity and decision-making processes.</p>
The base salary range for this position is $107,000-216,000 USD per year.
<p>Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.</p><p>
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
