# Twitter Trends API

Trending topics on X (Twitter) with rank, URL and hashtag and promoted flags. Pick worldwide, a country or a major city.

**Pricing:** $0.001 per trend

**Endpoint:** `POST /v1/data/twitter/trends/run`

**Auth:** `Authorization: Bearer mk_live_...`

## Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|-----------|------|----------|-------------|
| `locations` | array | No | Where to read trends. Pick Worldwide, any of the 62 countries X reports trends for, or a major city; one request reads them all. Defaults to Worldwide. Through the API any other place X tracks also works: a two-letter country code (US), another city name, or a WOEID (23424977). |
| `maxResults` | integer | No | How many trends to return in total. Defaults to 50; use 0 for all. |

## Example

`?wait=true` holds the request open until the run finishes (up to 60s) and returns the rows inline: one request, no polling.

## Longer runs

If the run is still going at the 60s ceiling you get back `{ job_id, status: "running" }` instead of rows (same if the result is over 100 rows; those come back `truncated`). Poll with that `job_id`:
