# US Congress Trades API

Get stock trades disclosed by members of the US Congress: who traded, chamber, party, state, the stock, buy or sell, amount range and dates. Filter by member or ticker.

## Parameters

| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|-----------|------|----------|-------------|
| `ticker` | string | No | US stock ticker, e.g. NVDA. Only trades in that exact ticker are returned; non-US listings (RELIANCE.NS) and indices (NIFTY) are refused with a clear error. Leave Ticker and Member empty for the latest trades across Congress. |
| `member` | string | No | Member of Congress, e.g. Nancy Pelosi. Combine with Ticker to see one member's trades in one stock. |
| `maxResults` | integer | No | How many trades to return in total. Defaults to 100; use 0 for all. |

## Example

`?wait=true` holds the request open until the run finishes (up to 60s) and returns the rows inline: one request, no polling.

## Longer runs

If the run is still going at the 60s ceiling you get back `{ job_id, status: "running" }` instead of rows (same if the result is over 100 rows; those come back `truncated`). Poll with that `job_id`:
